The XMB can be pretty nice to look at most of the time, but as hackers there's always something more we can do about that. If it were up to a developer called zerozelta he would have you use his own operating system instead of what Sony has to offer. The coder refers to the project as an OS simulator, and this definitely seems to be the case by offering you what almost looks like a cross between Windows and iOS in terms of functionality. You'll have access to your MS as a directory, and as the shell develops even more features will probably be coming.

As stated this is only a test build, but it does come in English, Spanish and French versions if you would like to try it. Even if you are running a Vita, it seems that this should work for you as well. Lastly it should be noted that since no flashing is involved here, the worst thing that can happen to your console is a minor crash. Other than that this is a pretty cool and promising demo from a talented developer.
We close out this week with a brand spankin' new PS3 backup loader with a pretty awesome update!
