In case you haven't heard the news, 2013 is here to stay. For many businesses that means starting the year off on the right foot. In an effort to keep its many users happy in the coming months, the PlayStation Network will be undergoing some scheduled maintenance to keep the servers working as strongly as possible. Here is the official word on the times you should be aware of.

It's a sad day whenever our gaming sessions get interrupted for any reason, but if you've been hanging around the PSN for a few years now you know that especially after the many hacking incidents this sort of procedure has become a lot more common. After singing some praise about the success of the God of War Ascension Beta and the new Dead Space 3 digital preorder system Sony Senior Manager Matthew Harper of PlayStation Digital Platforms has given us word that the PSN will have some limited functionality for most of the day tomorrow.

Depending on where you're living the work will begin at 8:00AM PT (9:00AM MT / 10:00AM CT / 11:00 AM ET) and conclude around 8:00PM PT (9:00PM MT / 10:00PM CT / 11:00PM ET). This is definitely more in the middle of the day than some previous windows, but the good news is as long as you sign in some time today you'll still be able to use games and apps at your leisure. If you were hoping to get a PSN purchase though, you may want to do that before this time begins. More or less, just get yourself logged in so you can keep gaming through the day!
