PSN "Customer Appreciation Program" detailed

Sony has finally outlined its "Customer Appreciation Program" for those PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in North America that have been affected by the recent outage, offering free game downloads, 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership, movie rentals and more.

Patrick Seybold, SCEA's Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media, provided the details for its planned “Welcome Back” appreciation program for customers in North America. This will include:

All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.
- Dead Nation
- inFAMOUS
- LittleBigPlanet
- Super Stardust HD
- Wipeout HD + Fury
For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.
- LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
- ModNation Racers
- Pursuit Force
- Killzone Liberation
A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

Just a little reminder folks, the contents listed above are only available for PlayStation Network and Qriocity users living in the US and Canada, other regions might receive different perks. Seybold adds that this will go live once the services are fully restored.

All I have is a PSP and I can get all of those games for free anyway and the fact that'd have to maintain access to PSN to use them when Sony is spending most of it's time making "Security" updates for PSP to keep people from accessing PSN makes it almost worthless.

I'd rather pay for the games. We don't even know if the developers will be getting their money for these Free Games.

Well, these are Sony Exclusive games, so I'm sure they figured something out. These are great games if you don't have them already. I purchased LBP and inFamous, so that leaves me with Super Stardust HD and WipEout HD + Fury DLC Pack.

As for the PSP, I had LBP and MNR. MNR is ok, it just doesn't have as much Create Power (Character and Kart wise, Track creation is pretty decent) as the PS3 version. Pursuit Force shouldn't be there, its a really old game, but I shouldn't complain seeing as it is free.
KillZone Liberation, played it for 5 mins but never got hooked on it.

youre talking how you can steal the games for free anyway and pretending youre worried the developers getting the money? Just because you can get something for free doesn't belittle their attempt. You can get almost anything for free

Of the PS3 games on the list the only one I don't have is Dead Nation, I don't even know what that game is about. Too bad the US doesn't get Quest for Booty. That would be a sure pick for me. So when my PS3 gets fixed maybe I'll get Infamous and LBP to get rid of the boxes.

Just create another psn account and you will he able to get all the games here. You can also create other region psn accounts to get their dlc or other goodies not in your region.

All the PS3 games they're offering might be old, but at least they're good titles. I own Dead Nation, LBP and Wipeout and they're all fun, well made games (even tho I don't play wipeout cause I suck at racers.)

I've been wanting to get super stardust HD for a while, ever since playing the PSP version, and I never did beat inFAMOUS when I rented it.

"...Well, why don't we offer good OLD games that most people already own and thus will not download? (Or, if they own the game and still download it then we're not really losing potential profits anyways because it'll just be like giving them a digital copy of the game they already own. Besides, digital downloads don't cost anything to produce after the source file

All I have to say is learn to read correctly.

It said you can download the games for 30 days AFTER the PSN is fully restored, and can be kept forever.

How did you miss the "can be kept forever" part?

How lame! They give us some 1/2 @ss games to choice from. PSN sent us a letter far after the problem happened and kept us in the dark! Give us what we WANT! 2 game downloads for free or 4 map packs. mw3 and bf3 are about to finally come out.
