PS3: Red vs Blue |
Listed in: News Tags: ps3 blue, ps3 red, Sony
Sony is gearing up to release its latest attempt at gaining revenue by releasing two new colored PS3’s in Europe. The latest addition to the PS3 color spectrum will now include Garnet Red and Azurite Blue (which appears to be fancy ways of saying red and blue). Both will be available mid-February and will be packaged with two matching DualShock controllers and a 500GB HDD.

Despite the fact that Sony has not confirmed a release price yet we can assume that it will be around the same as the accidently listed Amazon.de price €329.95 ($439). But we could be wrong, who knows. If you had to pick one which would it be, Garnet Red or Azurite Blue? I would have to go with red but after years of seeing this strange practice of releasing alternate colors of a system I still don’t understand it. Why go through the trouble? Has it really done anything to help sales outside of the random collector who is rushing out buy a different colored game console? What do you think of this colorful practice? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.

Really now, who the hell would look at this and say "Gosh, I didn't want a PS3 before but NOW it's red/blue!"
Really now, releasing new colors (wait, Europe... coloUrs) is never a BAD thing, but this late in the console's lifetime? It just seems like an exercise in futility...
