Netflix is probably one of the most popular video streaming services in the entire world. With its library of instantly viewable TV shows and Hollywood movies, fanatics and casual watchers alike have found a lot to enjoy in this pioneer video streaming site. With its limitless device support, Netflix is pretty much able to be with you at all times whether its non your smart phone, tablet, or game console. Still you might be interested to know that it is in fact Sony's machine that ranks at the top of all these non-PC pieces of hardware.

Back when Netflix streaming first appeared on the PS3, it was somewhat of a wash. Unlike Microsoft's Xbox 360 which had a designated app, Sony fans would have to keep track of a Netflix disc that they would insert in their system every time they wanted to watch something. It certainly worked, but over time data on the media would commonly get corrupted making the service unusable. To their credit, replacements could be made and shipped instantly, but it just wasn't super ideal.

That was of course until 2010 when we were introduced to the PS3's standalone application. Over the past few years, it has surpassed all other gaming machines by being the first to try out many of the service's more advanced features including 1080p, second screen controls, and even subtitles. These advancements plus a few more have allowed both Sony and Netflix to proudly announce that it this console is indeed the most popular non-PC device to use Netflix. In fact Reed Hastings even went as far to admit that over some periods PS3 viewers counted  higher than computers. Not too bad for initially lagging behind the competition.

Are you using PS3 to stream your Netflix?

i never understood the age old question "why people dont switch to ps3 from the xbox 360". you dont have to pay to access online services you're paying for.Ps3 has a 3d bluray player that works 3 times faster than a dedicated bluray player. Its like converting someone from Christianity to atheism, "Look at the facts this is clearly better.""Nuh-uh xbox is better just because thats why, dont talk to me with your logic."

#1 reason ppl don't switch to ps3 is because the chat interface. We are in tW day and age of social take over. I don't want to go on a system n it take me 20 years to send a friend a message. Or go through loops to voice chat with them if they are not playing the same game as me. Xbox is just easier to communicate with people on do IMO thats why ppl don't make the switch. But regarding Netflix yeah Xbox killed the Netflix experience on Xbox when they updated it. Ps3's was working fine and they left it...if it ain't broke don fix it. But honestly give the Wii U some time. By far that has the best Netflix experience period.

Valid points from both of you. The real question is, do you still feel that that little bit of extra integration is worth the yearly fee for Xbox Live? That I'm not so sure about, but it depends on what you value I think.
