Duke Nukem Forever has been consistent in amping up the excitement for its release, not even the just-as-consistent delays can stop it.

In an interview with Electronic Gaming Monthly, Gearbox executive producer Brian Martel further amps up this hype by spilling some insider deets regarding the game's production.

He divulged, among many other nuggets, that they had to take out "The Slick Willy" joke from the game because it was referencing to then-president Bill Clinton. Yes, this game has literally been in development for that long.

"But we need to change it," Martel explained, "because as it turns out, the president changes over time."

"There's actually a joke about that time that Christian Bale famously flipped out," he continued with the reveals, "and we were thinking about taking it out because we were worried it had been overdone. But it was just so funny in the context of the game that we decided to keep it."

Those definitely are interesting things to look out for when Duke Nukem Forever releases this June. They might want to make a go for it, finally, too, just so, you know, they won't have to change any more references based on the outcome of the upcoming elections -- just in case.
