Press Goes Batshit Over Stealing A Password |
Listed in: News Tags: japanese news, ps3 arrest, ps3 on display, psn theft, ramos, sen
Among all the great stories, sad ones, exciting ones and boring ones, eventually you do find yourself stumbling onto one of those batshit ones that you end up telling your friends when conversation gets dull. This is the batshit one of the week for me.
In Japan, a 22 year old man, ‘Ramos Angelo Miguel’ was arrested for using someone’s (his friends) PSN ID and password. Sorry, ‘SEN’ ID and password. He then proceeded to use the account without permission to download 2 films, totalling his crimes to $15.50.
Being arrested for that is a bit batshit, but not as crazy as it’s going to get now. The Japanese authorities not only arrested him, but put all of possessions that he used for the crime ON DISPLAY.

That means his laptop, his PS3 and two phones (?) are on public display. The news report video footage shows the police hauling Ramos away with dramatic zoom-in’s of him in the police car.
You could say that with Ramos being Filipino, this could be an overt-form of racism in the Japanese media trying to tarnish foreigners’ reputations. You don’t need to speak Japanese to hear the ‘Filipino’ uttered in the beginning of the news report.
Either way, it’s batshit. Or maybe people in Japan have never stolen an online account.
You can visit the Japanese site with video here.
Also; does that screenshot remind you of the opening scene in Battle Royale with the girl in the car?

My guess is this person did not pay up and the other guy called the cops. So i don't know why you think this is a "batshit story" as you call it.

It doesn't surprise me at all.
He wasn't arrested for stealing $15. He was arrested for compromising an online account. You get arrested for that in the US as well. I would also assume many other countries. Or rather, I would hope.
Also, which one is it?
"Press Goes Batshit"
"Being arrested for that is a bit batshit"
Are you calling the press or their police batshit?

But to be put on state TV like convicted murderer and have your posessions put on public display?
That's just batshit.

As for being put on TV. Was that a joke? The most dumbest shit get puts on TV these days. If anything belongs on there this is it. Here let me correct that for you:
But to put Lindsay Lohan on state TV like convicted murderer at least once a damn week?
That's just batshit crazy.
Also, it's batshit crazy or any other adjective, not just batshit

I'm sure you can see the difference, but like me are too strong headed to give way.
As for the TV thing, thankfully we haven't seen much of Lohan lately...As for this guy, his reputation for his life could be ruined by this. A screencap of him on news being hauled away by police will tarnish his image should any mean person wish to dig up dirt on him to get him fired in the future.
He's a guilty theif, but there's no way he deserved that.
Then again, me posting it here probably isn't helping his rep either...
Fuck it, it's his fault.
PS. I want to bring just batshit back. 'Dude, you batshit'. Give it 10 years, it'll be hip.

I see you didn't read my other post:
"He wasn't arrested for stealing $15. He was arrested for compromising an online account. You get arrested for that in the US as well. I would also assume many other countries. Or rather, I would hope."
This has nothing to do with $15.
"thankfully we haven't seen much of Lohan lately"
Who the heck is "we"? turn on a TV, she's on every damn week.

I'll almost repeat myself instead; Breaking into a friends house and raping them or shooting them is different from using someone's online account without permission to steal $15 worth of movies.
If you still can't see the difference in compromising an online acount and raping and murdering a human being, then I give up.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH $15.
Also, "rape" wasn't the point. The point that you missed was THE LAW IS THE LAW. You do the CRIME you get the punishment for that crime. Period.
By your faulty logic, that makes no sense what-so-ever, anyone who runs a red light and DOES NOT hit anyone should simply be let go with no punishment. After all they did less then $15 in damage. In fact, nothing happened at all! Just give them a Mr Pham slap on the wrist.
Stick to video games, the law isn't your forte
Also, this article needs a massive POV in the title since it was absolutely nothing but your POV. Nothing wrong with that, mind you, just sayin.

My PoV is, however, that crime's have varying degree's and should be treated accordingly. For his crime I don't think he should have been hauled by police on TV, but that's just my view.
