Pre-Order Stats: Star Wars, Mass Effect and Halo

Pre-order charts are fun to watch. We saw an epic battle between Skyrim, Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 earlier in the year, as each game struggled to take the top slot in terms of pre-release purchases. Pre-orders are a good indicator of how successful any particular game may be, and we’ve seen all three of those titles go on to become massive hits (especially MW3).

But now that all of the big games have come and gone, who’s holding down the pre-order fort? Well, mostly Star Wars: The Old Republic, which is about to officially launch on December 20. Beyond that specific title, every other game in the top 10 has weeks, even months to go before officially hitting shelves.

I guess there are many people like me who is going to buy Halo 4 Day 1 but I have for one have not pre-orderd it as I will wait until the special editions is announced, although I haven't pre-orderd FFXIII-2 yet either or Mass Effect 3 for that matter, gonna wait till after Christmas before I do that

I think we see pre-orders balloon as a game gets closer. Halo 4 will likely lead the charts eventually.
