Police arrest suspected LulzSec member

A 19-year-old suspect being linked to the infamous hacking group LulzSec has been arrested in London following a joint operation by the New Scotland Yard and the FBI.

The police arrested the teenager on suspicion of "Computer Misuse Act and Fraud Act offences", following “a pre-planned intelligence-led operation,” the report said.

A Metropolitan Police representative told Develop that the suspect was "specifically charged in connection with a DDOS attack on the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) website" and a possible link to the recent PlayStation Network breach.

The arrest comes days after the infamous hacking group claimed responsibilty for attacking the US CIA's website. LulzSec has also claimed responsibility for attacks on Bethesda, MineCraft, Eve Online and Sony. Three alleged members of another notorious hacking group Anonymous were also arrested in Spain two weeks ago.

After attacking SOCA (The British version of the FBI) and the CIA, Lulzsec should expect a lot more of this to happen in the near future.

It's one thing to law agencies when you attack some video-game companies.... It's entirely another matter when you try to do the same to law-enforcement. They'll be out for revenge now.

Wow you guys need to wake up and realize who is on your sides. Some of these groups that youre so angry at are fighting for your personal rights. Guys this is much bigger than not being able to play an online game for a few weeks. You should be angry when WikiLeaks was down, because that is an attack on your rights. The government is supposed to work for the people not the other way around. Its not your fault though, its just what youve been taught. Do any of you remember when Pops worked and Mama could stay home and take care of you and the home? My wife and I both work 60+ hours a week, and while we do live good it would not be possible if we had kids and one income. Why is that reality now? My father was a high school graduate and worked for the Santa Fe Rail in the 70's and made 40k+ a year...damn good money for the 70's. Funny thing though I know college grads now making less....but things like gasoline, milk, and hell even housing has gone up several times the amount it cost in the 70's. Greed is why this is happening. The wealthy and the powerful have taken care of their own and left the middle class paralyzed. Im not ok with this anymore, and if you have any sense you shouldnt be either. So when groups are attacking the US Fed and CIA, maybe you should look into why they would take such risks, rather than laugh at them for going down for it. They went down trying to keep you free to play your video games. I dont think you understand just how close to reality HomeFront may be. China is going to want their money back and right now the working class taxpayer is on the line for it, and IOU signed by Washington political elite and scumbags at the Federal Reserve. Do you really want them to come collect?

Hacking can be a media term for any illegal or harmful computer use, usually personified by teenagers doing crazy stuff with computers. In programmer usage hacking is knowing a system so well you can bring new uses out of it. A cracker on the other hand uses this knowledge for harm, pirating, money, etc.
