PlayStation Rewards program public launch delayed |
Listed in: News Tags: playstation rewards, ps home, Sony

The beta of Sony's PlayStation Rewards program is coming to an end this week. The beta has convinced Sony, however, that the program isn't quite ready for the public. One of our readers has tipped us off to a Sony email announcing that the PlayStatiton Rewards program won't be launched publicly this April after all.
"We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the PlayStation Rewards Beta, which is ending on March 31st," reads part of the email, which was sent to gamers who participated in the PlayStation Rewards Beta. "Your feedback helped us understand the kinds of things that make you feel appreciated and valued.
"Based on what we learned, we have decided the program is not ready to roll out to the public in April as originally planned. But rest assured, we will continue to thank loyal and devoted customers like you with innovative offerings."
Beta testers are getting a little extra something for their participation, though. Sony will be giving away PlayStation shirts to beta testers who reach either Select, Pro, or Legendary status by March 31.
Sony's PlayStation Rewards program gives gamers bonus downloadable content like avatars and themes as rewards for playing games, exploring PS Home, and downloading from PSN.

Now Sony, release some god damn proper applications for PS3 that don't suck!
Oh yeah, I guess Sony fanboys are going to blame piracy and Geohot for this too.

Come to think of it, those aren't features at all, just attempts to make more money.
At least the blu ray playing feature probably won't be taken away.
As for Microsoft? Well no new features, but none taken away. Probably better that way.

Like saying a base model car is better because leather, premium sound, etc. is optional for additional fee.
Sorry for injecting logic into the discussion. I know that isn't allowed here.
