Platinum Games defends Metal Gear Development. |

Platinum Games have been questioned by Metal Gear fans new and old alike. Fans wonder if they can possibly pull off a Metal Gear game and executive producer of the upcoming game, Atsushi Inaba, says he's got this one in the bag. The trailer for the game has been more than impressive visually and the visuals by themselves conjure up old bits of nanomemories of past Metal Gear trailers. Yet people still wondered if the game should have stayed cancelled.
Inaba tweeted to his many followers earlier this week that he was curious to see that some people are implying "PlatinumGames was [un]able to achieve what Kojima Productions could not," and assured people and interviewers that the claim was "spurious" and clearly they had not "produced any results in the world of Metal Gear."
Inaba was more than objective about the claim when asked by the press about the weight of the game but reassured everyone that despite the fact that "reactions to the new trailer were mixed," he believes that their "love and respect shines through." Which, if a little corny does inspire hope for the ex-Sega developers. To be fair to Platinum, they have some amazing people on the team. Ex-developers of Okami, Viewtiful Joe and God Hand. The game's slightly over-the-top and cynical view of the world may not exactly match up, but their use of gameplay and meta-humour will shine through even the darkest spots in Kojima's writing.

Personally I don't giv'a monkies if platinum have taken the reigns for this SPIN-OFF...so sad pathetic MG FANs take note....IT'S A SPIN-OFF FROM MGS........
UNDERSTAND!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
Now go & die!!
Wot I am pissed of about is that now I have seen the 'RISING' trailer.....the gameplay and graphics are exactly like 'VANQUISH' (not Bayonetta).
So.....I conclude that when Platinum were approched by(kojima) they were in the middle of production with Vanquish & in turn when they accepted the contract to take over RISING.......'Vanquished' suffered by only getting half-baked (cause it was too fukin SHORT).
They couldn't complete VANQUISH properly because they needed team members to take on RISING - I hope its not true...but I'm pretty certain that was the case.
TYPICAL!!!!

Why do you keep saying the trailer was impressive? It's far from it, and only the non-mgs fans seem to like it because they're the type who love simple games like FPS or sidescrollers where you dont have to worry about anything but killing things in your way. I assume you thought Bayonetta was impresive too? Perhaps Tetris?
Also, first poster, spin-off or not.. it doesnt make the trailer look any less pathetic. Sure, it's another "Snakes Revenge" title that probably wont make it into the same story as the other games.. but thinking about what the game was originally supposed to do (And the game sounded like it fit in, story-wise). Right now it doesnt, and probably has the whole typical *insert cheesy Anime voice over* "ooooh! You killed my wife and kid so I must seek vengance on you, aaaaigh! ^_^" type bullshit.
