Pipeworks Software Head quits over "exaggerated military claims" |
Listed in: News Tags: deadliest warrior, pipeworks games, special forces

People in the games industry do not live glorious life styles. In every other medium there are rock stars and movie stars but there are no game stars. Sure we have mascots and replayability, but that puts us on par with the average sports fan. Think of your family and whatever local team they support and think of your favourite game, who do you think would know who Crash Bandicoot or Nathan Drake was if you asked them...well we'll never see my name in lights, but another man, Robert Daly, did want his name shining bright.
Robert was working on the video game adaptation of the Deadliest Warrior series and was taking out his buttcheeks, Jim Carrey style, when he was hired to work on Pipeworks Games, claiming he worked as an army man from 1991-1994, when really he was just not doing much at all during those years.
Pipeworks made a statement a few days ago with Daly resigning from both the company and the Professional Soldiers forum. His statement read, "At this point in time for the best interests of Pipeworks Software and F9E I am voluntarily resigning my position of Studio Head of Pipeworks effective immediately. Furthermore I have no plans on appearing in any more episodes of Deadliest Warrior."
I would never fudge something like that, except on my business card it now says, Video Game Journalist, Writer, Badass.

There are stars in the games world, but they have to keep producing to stay relevant.
