Sony Online Entertainment's downloadable squad-based first-person shooter has suffered a delay. Originally slated to arrive tomorrow as part of the PlayStation Store update, the game has been pushed back for a release "later this month."

"This delay is a move to ensure players and fans of our promise and vision to produce high-caliber games that deliver the best quality game experience," notes SOE in the press release. Gamers who have pre-ordered the game will receive the retail copy of the shooter at launch, as well as those who purchased the purchased the four other PSN titles as part of the PlayStation Network PLAY program.
If you haven't heard about this game yet, Payday: The Heist, as the title implies, is all about robbing banks, stealing priceless diamonds, taking hostages and hijacking cars in a "never-ending pursuit for criminal glory," with team work in mind. Sounds fun right? Payday: The Heist will be available for US$ 19.99 on the PS3 and PC later this month.
