Okami HD Hits PSN October 30th |
Listed in: News Tags: Capcom, okami, psn, puzzle
While it was released in the wake of quite a bit of PS3 launch news, Okami was still one of the most unique gaming experiences that the PS2 could offer. Complete with it's unique animation style and gameplay unlike any other, this was a game that despite all the industry hustle and bustle found a way to shine. Let's face it, how often do we see both Gamespot and IGN rank a single game within the 9s? Okami was one of the few games to accomplish that feat. If you were too busy unwrapping your PS3 to check it out however, you can download a special HD version of the game for just $20 at the end of October.

When you're talking about Okami, one of the first major aspects to note is its unique gameplay. More or less the title requires that players follow a dog along a fantastic journey that involves drawing your way to safety. In the PS2 version, this involved using the analog sticks to guide a paintbrush across the screen in an effort to draw objects such as bridges that would guide Okami to safety as well as the next puzzle. In a very smart idea from Capcom however, the updated version will also include support for the PlayStation Move, which means you'll be able to guide that brush through motion control as well should you be one of the one or two people that own a Move.
Additionally, you're also going to be treated to one of the most dazzling animation experiences in gaming history. By using a cartoony, cell shaded style, the vibrant colors behind this title popped off the screen even in standard definition six years ago. Bump that up to full 1080p support and you've got the ingredients for one of the most entertaining and best looking gaming experiences that this very cheap price can afford. If you haven't had the pleasure of being introduced to Okami, you should make a point to make that introduction on October 30th.
