Obsidian Entertainment is poised to get started on a Star Wars RPG, provided LucasArts bites. They want to set it between Episodes III and IV, the "Dark Times" Obi-Wan Kenobi told Luke Skywalker about in Episode IV. There's already a Dark Horse comic about it. so there is a precedent.

"I would say it's within the top three pitched we've ever come up with," Obsidian CEO Fergus Urquhart told RPS. 

Speaking of the Dark Times setting, Urquhart said, "We think that timeframe is super interesting. It's the fall of the Republic, the extermination of the Jedi; it's Obi-Wan going off and making sure Luke is OK. You have the Sith, but you have the extermination of all Force users except for very, very few."

Unfortunately, Obsidian hasn't dealt with this since Disney acquired LucasArts and Urquhart admits that "changes things."

"We haven't [talked with Disney regarding the game]. We're kind of waiting for the smoke to clear. But that's one of my next big things to do. To kind of go over there and [get things going again.]"
