Well, numbers are in from 2012 and they tell an interesting story of sequels, sports games and people dancing in their living rooms. As you may have already guessed, Call of Duty: Black Ops II took the number one slot, with Madden and Halo coming in close behind. More surprising, though, is the presence of a LEGO game and Just Dance, along with last year’s Modern Warfare 3.

Thoughts? I’m surprised some of the more high-profile launches of the year (Dishonored, Mass Effect 3) didn’t snag spots, but overall the numbers seem pretty much what one would expect. Activision certainly had a good year (especially when you add in that Skylanders news from before).
