Nothing but AAA for Brink

Brink devs want their game to be nothing but an AAA title. Who wouldn't, right?

Splash Damage CEO and game director Paul Wedgwood expressed those very sentiments in a recent interview with CVG.

"We think that what we're doing should always be unique and different and that's it," he said. "I think if what we do is unique and different and compelling and AAA then I think we'll be happy."

He also confirmed that they do have something lined up for the game post-release, and that it's actually "a big part of our plans". He even hinted that they just might release the SDK, level design tools and the very source code.

As to whether or not they'd let Brink be made into a movie: "We never really understand why people do that stuff. I understand that it can be profitable but we haven't yet seen a company that's turned that into a kind of sustainable business that's been really good for them."

"The fact is that the most successful game companies are generally the ones that make the highest quality AAA games," he furthered.

Brink is slated to come out for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 10th in Noth America, and on May 13th for Europe.
