Looks like they've already found someone to replace David O. Russell for the Uncharted movie adaptation. IGN got to sit down with the new guy boarding in the project, director Neil Burger.

According to him, it's not too hard getting excited about working on the Uncharted movie considering that it's got the elements of an "epic adventure", and an "incredible cinematic for videogame." Basically, all the important ingreadients for any adaptation project, "[T]his game has it, it's amazing!"

Of course, ripe on everyone's mind are the actors who will be bringing the video game characters to movie screen life. Asked about Robert de Niro, who was previously rumored to be involved with the film project, Burger said that he's not exactly sure as to how attached de Niro was in the first place. So really, he's just starting to get a feel of things and how they're going in terms of casting. Actually, they're still keeping their eyes peeled for those actors who would fit perfectly for the parts being written in the movie.

Speaking of actors, he also had this to say about Nathan Fillion, who is actually a drop dead lookalike of Nathan Drake. And they've got the same name, too boot. "He looks like him, actually. He looks like the guy in the videogame, but you never know." Oh, and lest we forget to mention, they're also apparently considering Bradley Cooper for the part.

As to how he got included in the whole conversation, check out Neil Burger's full interview with IGN below:

While the movie just got back to the drawing board, there is Uncharted 3 to look forward to, which comes out in November. It was also revealed by Naughty Dog last week that the multiplayer beta for the third installment of the action-adventure franchise got the largest number of participants ever.

I still think Josh Holloway should be considered for Drake. He's like a younger, more athletic version of Nathan Fillion and he knows his way around an island.

I like the idea of Holloway in a Drake movie, but not as Drake. Maybe as a sidekick...can always create a new "friend" for him. Backstabbing friend most likely.

Did David O. Russell quit or something or was he relieved of his role with the film? I never heard anything (been away kind of from the net for the last few months) so this is news to me.
