A new trailer for SoulCalibur V implies that with 17 years between the game and the last entry, the game will be a good bit more story driven than previously. Personally I don’t mind, as I loved the stories in Tekken, although those were more like mini non-canon stories.
The trailer shows that there will indeed be heavily story-based cutscenes, complete with a vocal track and dramatic music.
‘A new chapter unfolds on the stage of history’ is spoken as the trailer closes, which for some reason suggests to me that we may even see spinoffs and novels later on down the line. Who knows?
Either way, enjoy the trailer, as I’m considering picking this one up, and the last SoulCalibur I played was SoulCalibur 3 and that was pretty great.
Any of you QJ readers that are fans of the series, can you give some reasons that a Tekken-head like myself will want to pick this up? Because I’m tempted, but still unsure.
