New BF3 patch causing Sony problems

After being announced the latest BF3 patch would be PS3 exclusive, Sony fans have called out DICE for releasing their latest patch and that it completely sucks. There are a number of problems being reported from the new patch with some people claiming several system crashes and even some consoles needing a full hard-reset.

DICE said the latest update will help people quit the game and also the game does constantly crash without the patch too. The latest patch has boiled up rage all over again with DICE saying they've fixed some weapons glitches with the QBU-88 and MG36 but apparently some maps like Karkland and Wake Island are missing. Despite the fact the patch was meant to go live, globally on March 27th, the update is currently unavailable in Asia and has left a large portion of the players unable to verse the other side of the world.

Those of you with Battlefield on PS3, has the patch worked for you or are things cocking up?

Implying the Xbox and PC patches are bug free.

In regards to missing Back to Karkland maps, you have to re-download the DLC. Perhaps some people did not and are "missing" them? Or maybe not.

Also, why Sony? I understand that the patch is on the PS3 and so and so but it somewhat seems like this is just being used as another shot at Sony, adding to their list of "problems".

Well, the Xbox patch isn't out yet, and the PC patch just landed today. So....this is PS3 specific, for the moment.

The patch does need some tweaking, but the game is playable. One thing I think is stupid is the fact you have to re-download the Karkland expansion pack, which is another ~1.2GB (on top of the large patch). My brother had his system lock up 2 times trying to download the expansion. Once we got in, a couple of servers seemed quite glitchy. One game we joined the screen was very jittery. It was hard to say it was lag, but it was intolerable. My brother who was in the same game with me saw the same thing. We bailed and joined another game and had no further issues.

I am amazed that with the latest patch they STILL did not fix joining a game with a squad. You still do not keep the squad intact upon arriving in game.

The only problem I had was no one in the Karkand map, but everything seems fine. Good to see the Karkand Conquest map back and BTR - 90 IFV which I needed to complete my final assignment. Think many are not re-downloading the Karkand pack. Btw, I'm in Asia.

The only thing I was hyped about the patch was the option to disable antialiasing to reduce input lag, but in my tests it didn't even reduce a single frame of input lag. Fail.

Err yea if you don't re-download the Expansion they wont show up but it CLEARLY says that otherwise I've had 0 issues on the new patch.

Try not using them in your base... where the enemy can actually get to your camping ass and kill you back. They work better than ever now.

been playing last couple of days no problems to report yet. make sure you redownload the karkland dlc it might help.

downloaded it and it is fine. had to redownload the karkland expansion to get all the maps back but works fine after that. they added the ability to quit the game during the score screen which was much needed.

from what i see i Bf3. it was fine before all teh patched. now its broke as fuck. i probably wont be playing it anymore because its broke as he**. a game formed on realism is fun, but too much. it leads to anger and frustration. so BC2 im coming back to play and contine going 16/3. instead of 2/15 on BF3

lol you suck and are butthurt. I regularly go over 30 kills less than 5 deaths in battlefield 2 modern combat, then in bc1, then in bc2, now in bf3. Get better champ.

The game sucks now. the guns are all screwed up. im not waiting for dice to nerf the guns anymore. time to move on to the next game.

The only problem I had with the download is that when I was playing and I spawn with a MG36. I spawn with the MG36 above my head on my screen. Also some times when I play as soon as I spawn my gun won't a pair and if I see a enemy I won't be able to shot him/her.
But I still thing BF3 beats Call Of Duty by a lot.

I live on the west coast Im not sure what the deal is, since the patch my hit detection is extremely poor on non dice servers. I struggle to break even on my kdr..once I switch to a dice server my kdr goes way up..although even tonight I played on a dice server, 80% of the game it would take a full clips on enemies and only taking their health down to 75%. I also was experiencing dying in less then a sec against sub machine guns/pistol etc it seemed they would shoot once and do 100% damage..pretty frustrating. Lastly sniping for me was tough today I was using the m98b and it was taking 3-4 shots for a kill with a stationary target..I was beyond mad haha..Last night I did go 20-2 which makes it evenmore frustrating..10% of the time bf3 plays how it did pre-patch and then the other 90% its un-playable and not fun at all. Again Im not sure if the problems are due to my location..yet I never had a problem last year with lag etc..it wasnt un-common for me to have 90+ kills a game..and now Im excited if I break 50 blah : (

At least u guys can play.I can't,coz when updating when it raches 97% i get sign out from PSN happened 5 TIMES already.Anyone got this problem?
