NetherRealm Studios hints at “big surprise”

Mortal Kombat 9 developer NetherRealm Studios seems to have a new project up their sleeve. Let's hope it's not a fatality. This according to a tweet NetherRealm head Ed Boon dropped on the gaming community today.  “Surprise from NetherRealm Studio coming…?” said the mysterious Boon, which gets all our imaginations going.

NetherRealm Studios made their development debut with Mortal Kombat 9 this year, but when they formed as a company two years ago they bought the rights to Midway Games’ IPs, including Mortal Kombat, The Suffering, Wheelman, Spy Hunter and Joust.  Any one of these properties could use a reboot with the NetherRealm touch.  The obvious answer is Mortal Kombat 10, but I have another idea in mind.  I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is a new Joust game for the PlayStation Move.  Who doesn’t like ostrich combat and egg catching? We do know this is an unexpected surprise -- Boon said so. Only time – and more than a little sanctioned Twitter stalking – will tell.  What game are you hoping to see out of this “surprise?”

MK Trilogy HD Online... With character additions from the others installments, maybe...

Or MK10, with a Run button

I still have The Suffering . I love the game. But with alittle of Ed Boon's magic touch. It will be a jaw jropper. Fear and Condemded wouldn't even be talked about anymore.

I hope Spy Hunter is rebooted.Nowhere To Run was terrible because of the fact you get out of The Interceptor (Especially since most of the game you are on foot and barely in the car at all) :-x . In Spy Hunter you are ALWAYS IN THE INTERCEPTOR and it was ruined with NTR.Another thing that disappointed with was that they took away the G-_155 part of the Interceptor name, which gave it its identity. It also ended in a cliffhanger (WITH A NEW JET MODE THAT YOU DON'T EVEN USE!!! ). This really grinded my gears. When they Reboot it (which is extremely possible), they should make its name G-6155 again, make the Interceptor extremely badahzz, make it impossible to leave the car, maybe add the jet transformation, and add 10-15 player online multiplayer with different modes and different spy cars from the story and past games such as the red agent duvelle G-8155 from SH2,which could be a pre-order bonus or unlockable. It should also have a long and amazing campaign with Co-op (with all players having cars and not just guiding a minigun). And DLC. It would possibly be able to make it as good as twisted metal if it follows all of this. Sorry for ranting
