NBA Jam: On Fire Edition hits PSN and XBLA next week

When the latest iteration of EA's NBA Jam franchise hits next week, don't be surprised to see an extra team added into the lineup. As EA announced today, a trio of SSX superstars are taking their gravity defying tricks to a whole new field.

"After tearing up the slopes, most people like to relax and warm themselves by the fireplace," says EA. "Elise, Kaori, and Mac prefer to kick it by setting the rock on fire and clocking even more airtime on the basketball court. This trio of SSX superstars are the latest team to join the impressive roster of NBA JAM: On Fire Edition."

On Fire is a revamp edition of last year's NBA Jam reboot. It focuses solely on the core 2 on 2 gameplay, with a much improved AI, new moves and modes, an expanded online experience, and hundreds of tweaks than the previous installment. The game will be available on this Tuesday, October 4th on PSN for $14.99 and on Xbox Live Arcade on October 5th for 1200 points.

I guess this is EA's way to counter NBA 2K12's release, for now at least. If your not a big fan of basketball simulation and just want straight up arcade style b-ball experience, you can't go wrong with this one.
