MotorStorm might get delayed in EU

When it comes to first-party arcade racers, Sony's MotorStorm franchise has been holding down the fort for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable for close to four years now. Evolution Studios' latest installment in the arcade racing franchise, MotorStorm: Apocalypse is currently set for release this week in Europe. There's a chance that the game's release may be pushed back, however.

Speaking to video game news site GameSpot, a representative from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe revealed that MotorStorm: Apocalypse's release is "under discussion at the moment". The game is supposed to come out in the territory this Friday, while a North American release has been set for April 12. Sony Computer Entertainment America has yet to make a statement regarding a possible delay for the North American release.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan announced a couple of days ago that it will be pushing back MotorStorm: Apocalypse's Japanese release to an unannounced date. The game was supposed to come out in the territory on March 10th, the day the earthquake struck. Sony has also confirmed that due to the Christchurch earthquake last month, the game is being delayed indefinitely in New Zealand as well.
