Finally, you guys in New Zealand will be able to get your hands on the game come May 5th, 2011. It was originally set for a March 17th date, but was put on hold out of deference to the unfortunate event of a major quake hitting Canterbury back in February 22nd. This should be understandable since the game puts players in a city devastated by an earthquake, where they are encouraged to use all possible elements of the environment as their racing playground.

Less than a month after the Canterbury quake, Japan was hit by a magnitude 9 earthquake on March 11th, also prompting SCE to also postpone the rest of the launch of MotorStorm: Apocalypse worldwide. They have also now reset the schedule for the game's release in North America, setting it for launch on May 3rd.
