MotorStorm: Apocalypse delayed in Japan |
Listed in: News Tags: motorstorm: apocalypse, SCEJ
Apocalypse is the third iteration in the MotorStorm franchise. While the game is very much ready for distribution, the decision was made in consideration of the content of the game, and what happened in Japan. MotorStorm: Apocalypse features a city struck and devastated by an earthquake, and the similarities are just too close for comfort.

The game was supposed to come out on March 10th, the day the earthquake struck. The company did not state when the game will release instead in Japan, but given the current situation in the country, we don't think it will be for any time soon.
Various companies in the gaming industry have pledged support for the relief of Japan, ranging from financial aid to shutting down game servers to help in the conservation of energy.
Sony itself had to shut down six of their factories in Fukushima and Miyazaki due to the earthquake. These factories were the ones responsible for the production of Blu-ray disc, among other products.

Just joking but on a serious note, I really hope Japan recovers soon from this and have no more problems for a long time. I live in California and been waiting for the big one to hit here. Too bad my job involves climbing a latter several stories up. At least it pays good.
