They did promise us that the DLC will be more than the usual add-ons of costumes and whatnot, and it does look like Netherrealm is keen on delivering on that promise.
So said Lo on the DLC characters, "They won't be copy and pasted from characters already in the game - they're going to have their own unique fighting styles, moves, fatalities and x-rays - all the good stuff."
He also confirms that the "Lady in red" mentioned in the Gamepro issue is indeed Scarlet, also explaining how she turned out that way.
"Anyone who knows the history of Mortal Kombat will tell you that back in the days of the arcade - when they did just palette swap characters to come up with multiple fighters in the game - there was a glitch in one of the old arcade machines that caused the Jade/ Katana/ Milena female ninja to glitch and turn red."
"People always thought it was a hidden unlockable character and it wasn't, it was purely a programming glitch. They've always speculated and in fact it was the fans who named her Scarlet to begin with. She's no longer a glitch - she's an actual character, and she'll be coming pretty soon post-launch."
Apart from Scarlet, Kenshi and Kintaro were also confirmed. If you want more characters to join in on the Mortal Kombat reboot fun, they all you should do is to keep playing it. Lo said that they'll continue working on DLC for the game for "as long as people are playing it."

I guess that should be "then all you should do..."
Great to hear that they want to support the game for a long time. I hope the prices for these additional characters aren't to high though!
