More on Sleeping Dogs from Square Enix

A couple of weeks ago, someone discovered that Square Enix had trademarked the name "Sleeping Dogs." At the time, the speculation was high that it would be a new Kane & Lynch game. Well, with this latest bit of news that theory may have just gone out the window.

FutureShop attended Destination PlayStation last night and posted the following pic on Twitter:

A tatted up cop? Hmm. Siliconera seems to think it may be a True Crime reboot since Square Enix bought the rights to the game after Activision canned development on True Crime: Hong Kong. Looks like it could be a fit.

What do you guys think? Whatever it is, FutureShop says it's coming in August and we'll be able to pre-order it soon. Uh-huh.

I kind of missed out on True Crime back in the day since I was too busy running over pedestrians in one Grand Theft Auto or another at the time, but I'd probably give it a go if the series managed to get rebooted. Of course, this could be an entirely new IP. Guess we'll wait and see.
