Infinity Ward has word that a new patch for Modern Warfare 2 is on the way that specifically addresses security issues that have affected online play of the game.

According to Infinity Ward's Creative Strategist Robert Bowling, the upcoming title update will be available for Playstation 3 gamers on March 8th, with the Xbox 360 and PC release soon to follow. Bowling notes that this patch is specifically intended "to address hacking." This comes on the heels of the recent security breach on the PS3 that have affected many games, including Modern Warfare 2, where gamers have reportedly experienced problems with their stats being manipulated.
Bowling also noted that in addition to the security updates, this patch will also address "a small geo exploit on the map Fuel, which players exploited in order to get inside a rock on the outskirts of the map."

I wonder why they decided to patch the "rock" glitch since it has been ignored all this time.
