Midway Arcade Origins Puts the Classics Back on Consoles |
Listed in: News Tags: classics, midway, midway arcade origins
True gaming historians know that sometimes the games of today just don't cut it compared to the classics. Sure the expansive and seemingly never-ending worlds of the Elder Scrolls series look absolutely brilliant on our big screen HDTVs, but what about the kind of games that you can just pick up and play without having to sit through lengthy install times or fifteen-minute opening cinematics? The developer legends over at Midway hear your cries loud and clear with the release of Midway Arcade Origins om Xbox 360 and PS3.

If you're a classic gamer, you're going to find a lot to love about Arcade Origins. With over thirty different retro titles to choose from, true fanatics are going to be spending quite a few hours revisiting these essentials that sit on the road of memory lane. Looking to take over New York City just one more time on an animal driven Rampage? Check. Want to race a spy car as fast as you can while not crashing into enemies that clearly want you off the road? Check. Do you like jousting? Check. With just those three classic references made, it's clear that this compilation really does offer something for everyone.
However, despite its vintage focus, this title does offer some modern amenities as well such as the inclusion of trophies and achievements for their respective console. Additionally you will also be able to enage in local co-op multiplayer with up to three of your friends and then post your scores online. Yup, things did just get a little more competitive! The best part is, all of this is only going to set you back $30. That means less than one dollar a game! I don't know about you, but I can't wait to get my hands on these classics. When we know a release date, we'll make sure you know too!

I hope that the majority of these games are good, and not just 5 or 6 big titles, then 25 games that you passed right by in the arcade.
