Metal Gear Solid HD Limited Edition Announced |

Metal Gear Solid is such a renowned and well-regarded franchise with gamers, fans and critics alike and you know what, to be honest, I've never played any of them...but I soon will. Metal Gear HD is ready to be released and Konami and Kojima it has me incredibly excited for what's on offer for their special edition.
Wait...they don't have the original Metal Gear Solid?
But what if I want to play that one?...I have to download it from PSN...How much?!
Fine, fine what does this limited edition have then...
"...Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc...announced a 'Limited Edition' METAL GEAR SOLID HD COLLECTION will be available for the PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360® and is set to be released this [November].
In addition to the new features for METAL GEAR SOLID HD COLLECTION announced, the 'Limited Edition' will contain:
· Standard game
· Specialized packaging created by series lead artist, Yoji Shinkawa
· 248 page exclusive "The Art of Metal Gear Solid" artbook"
That's pretty good, the art book will be a nice touch for fans, but what about people who you're trying to introduce to the series who did not purchase the Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection for PS2 back in 2008.

· Remastered from the ground up for PS3® & Xbox360® (This is including MGS2, 3 and Peacewalker)

Whilst I'm not 100% sure on what Transfarring is, the rest of it seems pertty awesome, especially with the implementation of MGS3's Subsistence (I'm assuming) which will actually be used for people outside of Japan. The game looks like it will be awesome and I'm now gonna have to find a friend who has a GameCube Controller, Memory Card or fork out about $20 to play the original MGS.

Um... no. You can download the original on the psn store or you can play the remake "The Twin Snakes" on Gamecube/Wii but they're not the same game. The story is mostly the same, but the dialogue has been completely re-recorded and it's been changed a little bit here and there. The cutscenes are completely different and even a bit over the top. Personally, I enjoyed the ott cutscenes, but they're not in keeping with the rest of the series and a lot of people complain that they're just plain silly. Finally, the gameplay was brought over from MGS2 but the level design wasn't changed at all: giving the player additional abilities without any increase in challenge to offset it. Consequently, most of the game is quite a bit easier in the remake than it was in the original.
