Metal Gear Solid 5 confirmed

Looks like it’s Kojima Thursday, but in an article with PlayStation The Magazine UK Hideo Kojima said something that makes us all very, very happy. In this interview with the British magazine Kojima confirmed that his game development company is working on Metal Gear Solid 5. While this might not be the most surprising news, it is great to know that we will be seeing our favorite sneaky hero back in action.

The tricky part about writing this article is the fact that I don’t actually have a copy of the article, so I can’t say much more beyond that – except that they tease us with a quote from Kojima himself: “Snake was supposed to die.” Wait what? I might have to spend some cash and fly to London to pick up a copy of the magazine when it hits newsstands. Not that I’m obsessive about gaming at all.

MGS4 was supposed to be snake's last battle, oh wait it says so on the back of the game case 'in his final battle a hero must stand alone'

well the game kept true to that because the final battle was a one on one fist fight so i'm hoping they stay true to the 'final battle' part and not use the actual solid snake

hopefully this will be a prequel or snake somehow manages to father a kid and that kid becomes has snake as his mentor keeping true to the 'snake was supposed to die' line in the article.

to tell the truth i'm pretty excited about MGS5 but if they bring 'solid' or 'old' snake back i'll somehow feel cheated out of an epic and perfect ending from MGS4 but time will tell

You make a good point. With Snake's age, it might have to be a fight with walkers and wheelchairs.

I'm not sure how Kojima will bring Snake back.

Snake could return in his old age but with cybernetic enhancements or he actually did find a cure to reverse his accelerated aging.

Can't wait to hear more news about this new game. Kojima rules.
