Max Payne 3 Multiplayer Details Revealed |

It happens time and time again; a great single player game is marred by a tacked-on team deathmatch multiplayer game that is absolutely horrible. And in order to try to entice people to play it, the developers throw in some trophies or achievements that require you to slog through sometimes hours of horrible online play to get them. We've all had enough of it.
That being said, Rockstar Games is putting multiplayer in Max Payne 3, and they're putting some thought into it. The multiplayer mode is called Gang Wars and it essentially requires each player to take on a certain role on the team. Objectives change round-to-round and you will have to observe certain roles to succeed. For example, in the first round you may have to grab and escort a duffelbag to a certain location a la Kane and Lynch. Next round, you may be tasked with taking out the #1 player on the opposing team, defuse a bomb set by your enemies, or try to take back some turf seized by them.
Every objective will feature voice overs by Max Payne himself, and between rounds you'll collect XP with which you will be able to unlock special abilities (called Bursts) like Bullet Time (but of course), Paranoia (makes your opponents see their allies as enemies), Intuition (see through walls), and Sneaky (changes your name above your head to match enemy team's color).
Gang Wars is also said to intertwine with the dramatic narrative of the Max Payne 3 single player experience, kind of like webisodes of TV shows that reveal asides of minor characters and the like. Sounds interesting.
