Mad Men star in NFS The Run and the EA Appeal

I'm actually excited about Need for Speed The Run. Some of the gameplay videos make it look promising and adding a whole different dynamic to the game's usual, just choose a race and start racing, but no, that'd be too easy.

Now we have to have celebrities who are...wow, just stunningly attractive and good looking and actually might be of some use to drum up business for EA...but, the main thing is that EA Games has actually started to use more celebrities in their games as a recognisable face is probably a lot easier when you're marketing to a wider audience.

EA's shift from standard games practice to turning themselves into a larger distribution network hasn't been just a marketing play starting this year. With the casual success of The Sims series back in 2000, EA has almost always had their money and eyes set on the prize of getting more and more people to game, even if it's just for a few minutes a day. Gaming isn't exactly a gateway drug, but there are often franchises recognisable to even the common non-hardcore console playing mouth-breather, and that way more companies make money off simply being a brand than being a series of titles.

Also if someone can tell me why Sean Faris is important, that'd be nice too.
