Lost Planet 3 is chucking a lot of stuff from the first two games and incorporating what looks like a lot of Dead Space. And that is a very good thing indeed. The first two Lost Planet games had their own separate issues, but this time around Capcom is letting Spark Unlimited take the reins and from the video below we can see how great it's looking.

Much of this footage is stuff we've seen before, but in this one we have some developer narrative laid over the top of it. It involves our hero Jim climbing up into a mountain, fighting giant Akrid bugs spawned by big butthole-looking things, then climbing in a mech to take on a really big bug. We've seen this stuff before, but then we get a little cinematic that we haven't seen.

Just looking at things like the HUD-hologram stuff, the Struggle Mode/QTE thing, and the overall feel of the game, it looks like Lost Planet 3 and Dead Space 3 will be interchangeable in many ways. It doesn't help that their both set on ice planets either. Should be fun by all appearances.
