Lost Planet and Lost Planet 2 were both fun games, though quite different from each other aside from core gameplay. The first one was a fairly typical story-driven game from Japan that suffered from translation issues in the West. The second one focused on co-op, gigantic monsters, and a wide variety of mechs to cruise around in, yet still suffered from some translation issues and had almost no story. Not to mention that one scenario with the thinly-veiled racist caricatures.

Lost Planet 3, from what we've seen so far, is looking like it's going to be a step up in every way. Judging from the trailer below, it appears to have a pretty coherent story and the game has been compared to movies such as Sunshine, Aliens, Moon, and of course the Dead Space games. That all sounds pretty good if it turns out to be the case. 

Lost Planet 3 is due out early next year. Who's looking forward to this one?
