First there was Star Wars
Then there was Indiana Jones
Then there was Batman
Then there was Rock Band
Then there was Harry Potter
and now there's Lord of the Rings.
I'm wondering how big and wide the Lego Franchise can go. I actually wouldn't mind having a Lego Rock Band kit, with little drum sets. The LOTR Lego website is live and details the game to be in a very similar vein as the previous games and will be released next year.
The game will go through the entire trilogy with the usual slapstick, tongue-in-cheek style and will be developed with the fans in mind. I think there is something amazingly charming with the Lego game series and that it's an incredible tragedy that the Lego MMO tanked despite it even going to the F2P model. The game could have been amazing, but I guess with Minecraft out there now the chances of there being another Lego game about building, not based on a franchise, is quite slim.
