Layoffs at SuperBot Entertainment |
Listed in: News Tags: layoffs, playstation all-stars, Sony, superbot entertainment
Layoffs seem to be a dime a dozen nowadays, and they have just hit SuperBot Entertainment, the company responsible for the development of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

News of a round of layoffs at SuperBot Entertainment first broke via the Twitter account of Mike Birkhead, a designer at Insomniac Games. The layoffs were then confirmed by a Sony spokesperson who provided the following statement to IGN:
“SCEA can confirm that SuperBot Entertainment did make a reduction in their workforce today. The studio and SCEA remain committed to supporting PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale post launch, including developing the title’s forthcoming DLC releases in the coming months. The first character pack (including Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk) will be available for download on February 12 and will be free for the first two weeks. We’ll be sharing news of additional upcoming content soon.”
So, while it is good news that PS All-Stars Battle Royale will continue to receive support and DLC, the layoffs are certainly bad news for those employees and the families affected by them.
