Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning's Launch Trailer

The release date for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is right around the corner and EA and 38 Studios are pushing harder than ever. They've put out a launch trailer that provides examples of all the epic abilities you'll have access to and also shows off some pretty epic-looking battles as well.

I played the demo and it's pretty slow to start like many RPGs, but once you get going the combat is pretty fun. I'm not a huge fan of the cartoony WoW look, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Another thing worth mentioning while talking about Reckoning is the inclusion of an online pass. Yes, an online pass for a game with no online gameplay. All the online pass does is give you additional content. 38 Studios founder Curt Schilling (yes, the former MLB pitcher) defended the decision pretty fervently on the game's website and said some things that once again poke huge holes in the argument for online passes.
