Sony Corp. is a vast international media and electronics conglomerate with considerable market shares in various industries. It'll take a lot of skill and experience to be at the helm of that ship, and the next chief could be the head of the PlayStation businesses.
According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Sony is looking at Kaz Hirai to be their next chief executive. Hirai is currently the president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, as well as the head of SCEA. He will be succeeding the company's current CEO, Howard Stringer, who believes that there is no better man for the job.

"He is the leading candidate," Stringer said. "The logic (of the choice) is inescapable." The 69-year-old executive might have picked his successor, but he will be remaining in his position until for the time being. Sony reveals that Stringer decided to stay some time longer to foresee on-going changes in the organization, particularly the the combination of the videogame and consumer electronics businesses, which Hirai could be the head of in the future.
