The Hollywood Reporter is saying that a movie entitled Just Cause: Scorpio Rising is in the works. It will deal with Rico Rodriguez's origins and is being penned by Bryan Edward Hill, who wrote the comics 7 Days From Hell and Broken Trinity: Pandora's Box. Hill's script is actually a rewrite of Michael Ross's (of Touristas fame) original. Scorpio Rising's producers, Eric Eisner and Adrian Askarieh, have yet to approach any financiers and the like yet, so who knows if this thing will ever get off the ground. Of course, even if it does get off the ground there's always a good chance it will be a direct-to-video flop like so many other video game movies. And there's always the chance that it will never see the light of day like the Halo, BioShock, and Gears of War movies.

Almost as an afterthought, the Hollywood Reporter article also mentions that Just Cause 3 is indeed in development, no matter what we've heard from Avalanche Studios. Maybe it's that Project Mamba thing. I think we're all looking forward more to the game than the movie, but please chime in with your thoughts.
