Hello Games has announced a sequel to last year's quirky stunt-em-up digital title, Joe Danger.  Tentatively titled Joe Danger: The Movie, the upcoming title is now going multiplatform and will be playable at Gamescom next week.

"It's kind of a sequel to Joe Danger, but it's also something entirely new," reveals Hello Games boss Sean Murray in an interview with Eurogamer.

"I guess I would say that the entire gameplay experience of Joe Danger on PSN would be just one short scene in this new game. We've kind of gone a bit crazy in terms of ideas and scope, or at least I really hope we have. If you liked Joe Danger, then I think it's going to rock your world. Even if you didn't like it though, this is different enough that we might just win you over. That's the idea, but like I say, no one has seen it yet!"

In the upcoming sequel, Mr. Danger has now become a Hollywood stuntman. "Picture every film you've ever loved as a kid, from Labyrinth to Karate Kid to Robocop, all cut together into some crazy montage, and that's basically the script for our game," added Murray.

"The way I think about it, we're making a game for every person who's ever come out of the cinema, made a gun with their fingers and done some pretend fly kicks."

The original title was released last year exclusively for the PS3, but this time,  the series will go multiplatform, but Murray said they aren't ready to reveal more details about the move. "We're not able to talk about platforms yet, but I reckon we will reach a much larger audience than PSN this time. That's the plan," he said. "Fingers crossed we'll also have other platforms/versions on show at gamescom, some that will be a bit of a surprise."

Was a great little game to pass the time, especially fun trying to get that 100x combo achievement! Hope the next game evolves some of the features, particularly the level editor, sharing and multiplayer.
