Japan Game Charts filled with PS3 sales |
Listed in: News Tags: japan sales chart, monster hunter freedom 3 hd, Sony

Sony has had a very interesting week, starting off with a bit of great news that people don't hate them and their head's quite happy they survived the "Summer of the discontent", which clearly shows their mono-tracked ideal for their 'internationally-available' console, but I digress as the PS3 has ranked in terms of hardware sales in Japan.
The retail activity is incredibly positive considering the turmoil the country has been through this year. The console sold over thirty thousand consoles between August 22nd and the 28th, which is incredible in just 5 days, in contrast the console sold only 29, 666 products in the week prior.
On the gaming charts, Capcom's Monster Hunter Freedom 3 HD topped the charts selling 304, 073 copies and Black * Rock Shooter taking out 2nd for PSP, Kidou Senshi Gundam for 3rd and Sengoku Musou 3 Empires in 4th. Now I don't speak Japanese but I'm assuming their fairly popular titles and all sold over fifty thousand copies for that week alone, whether or not it was due to the Sony console is unknown, but I'm sure it didn't hurt.
Speaking of hurt, Sony did lose a lot of money this year with the hacking but just in this quarter alone they've sold 1.8 million units and I do wish the best for Sony for the rest of the year. They've hopefully learnt their lesson and their respect for their users has probably won them back.
Do you own a PS3 or do you plan on buying one before the year is through?

Hells, even my sis, whom isn't that big of a gamer is looking to get one. Mainly for the blu-ray playing capabilities, but she's also interested in a few games she's experienced with my console :)

No interest in movies or streaming though, my PS3 is for gaming alone and I often wish Sony would keep their focus there instead of that other crap. Loss of focus is what ruined the PSP.
