Japan discusses earthquake victims, rebuilding process

Kan Suzuki, Japan's vice-head of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, commented on the state of the country in a Famitsu interview.

"Children are passing around manga and lending games to each other, or in areas where there's nothing, they're simply playing with whatever's at hand. I spoke with the principal of an elementary school in Kanagawa prefecture the other day, and he told me that one of his teachers from the quake-affected area started a letter-exchange program between the schoolchildren and kids from the school he went to as a kid. And one of the things that got repeated in a lot of letters from the disaster area is that life in an evacuation center is pretty boring. The way the principal saw it, it's essentially a child's job to play and have fun, so he felt he needed to do something to help the children there get back to normal. That's a responsibility that we all have as adults." -- Kan Suzuki.

The devestating earthquakes rocked Japan recently, and since then, many game developers and websites have pitched in for the relief effort.
