We recently discussed the likelihood that the PS4’s controller would come equipped with a front-facing touchpad. Now it seems as if we have a prototype of what the actual controller might look like once it ships.

The image comes via Destructoid, and while the controller looks mostly like the regular DualShock controller, you can see the large touchpad on the front where the Start and Select buttons previously resided. In addition to the touchpad, the prototype also has audio output functionality and a large light on top. Whether or not the true PS4 controller will look like this remains to be seen, as Sony has not commented on the picture. We should learn more as Wednesday rolls around.

Why would you think that? You do realize they are not SHIPPING the PS4 on the 20th, right?
