South African retailer BT Games has listed "the latest release in the Dead Space franchise" as available for pre-order. EA and Visceral Games have yet to make any sort of formal announcement yet, but one would assume that behind the scenes, retailers know what's up. Unfortunately (well, fortunately for us), someone once again didn't get the memo about not posting such information online. Of course, the ETA says "2011" so who knows what this is - if it's anything at all.

IGN has noted that this is the same site that jumped the gun and revealed the Jak & Daxter HD Collection on PS3 and Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode, so this may be a reliable leak of things to come. In other words, don't be surprised if a formal announcement is right around the corner.

There has been plenty of informal talk of Dead Space 3, with rumors of an icebound planet being the setting and protagonist Isaac Clarke having an alternate personality called Shadow Isaac that will taunt and cajole him at every turn. Isaac's been through a lot, I'd say, so having an imaginary friend/enemy fits pretty well.
