Using the incredible powers of Facebook and the Facebook timeline, Insomniac has given a fan a chance to take a look into their history and it looks good. Looking all the way back to the 90's, Insomniac Games helped create one of the weirdest console FPS games ever, Disruptor and then moved onto more kid friendly titles like Spyro before finally signing on with Sony with the fantastic Ratchet and Clank and Resistence series. However, back in 2007, things were different.
From the looks of it, September 2007 was an interesting time for the company as they began developing 1080 Pinball, a possible downloadable title that would have meshed physics based pinball games with the original classic tables. However by the end of 2007, the game was nowhere to be seen and Insomniac never said why they never went through with it. You can check the Facebook timeline and Insomniac says that it was intended to be "the most realistic pinball simulation ever (including simulating weight of ball, gravity, and friction of table surface, as well as accurately modeling the "kick bumpers"), running in 1080p and 60fps."
I love Pinball machines and Pinball games and seeing one from Insomniac would have been all kinds of awesome. I do hope someone makes another awesome one day.
