Naughty Dog has released via their Twitter feed the pics of a life-sized bust they had made that depicts one of those unlucky souls in The Last of Us that was unfortunately infected by a fungus that takes over your brain. The whole concept is based on a real-world fungus that does the same thing to ants, and looking at the pics you can see how bad it would suck if it jumped to humans.

Her skin is bubbling and oozing, her hard palate is split by the fungus erupting from her head, her hair is thinning and greasy, drool drips from her nasty teeth...it's just gross and awesome at the same time. Naughty Dog has said that the infected aren't the main enemy in the game, which makes sense; if they were so easy to kill they wouldn't be a problem. You'll mostly be fighting other survivors. They also haven't said if they'll be mass producing these busts for public sale - if you'd want one.

People complain about the hype behind this game, but it's looking pretty damn good to me.
