Hope abounds for Tales of Xilllia localization |

Namco Bandai is keeping Western fans of Tales of Xillia on their toes as they are yet to confirm whether or not the game will ever see the light of day on Western shores.
There's plenty of hope going around, however, especially with reports that the Japanese version of Xillia does yield some hints of localization. Apparently, the game copies contain files which appear to be for that very purpose, and in different languages at that: English, French, Italian.
Said Aeana, the gamer who found the files, "Poked around in Xillia's files. Found something interesting: all of the game's text is in files named *.SDBJPN. Every string has a constant identifier, such as STR_BTL_TUT_CHAIN_ALVIN. The interesting thing is that there are other SDB files: SDBENG, SDBFRA, SDBITA, etc... all have the same identifiers associated with empty strings. So the game seems to be localization-ready."
If you'll remember, the only response that Namco Bandai was willing to give every time they were asked if they'll be sending out the game outside of Japan is that they'll have to wait and see.
Wait and see, as in, how much the fans would clamor for it. Well, there's no question about that clamor, and it's darned obvious that we'd love to get our hands on Tales of Xillia right in our shores. Namco's yet to comment on this discovery of Aeana, however, but we're holding on to this. There is hope yet, we feel it.
In the meantime, we only have these gameplay trailers and Japanese TV spots to keep us wanting for more. If and when they do decide to ship out Xillia, I hope it wouldn't be too much to ask for them to bring that awesome PS3 unit as well.
