Homefront Ultimate Edition Incoming

Let's face it; Homefront wasn't the most successful game. It had a lot of potential with its nightmarish "what if" scenario and a very cool trailer, but it failed to live up to its true potential. The single player campaign was woefully short and the multiplayer had its problems (and you needed one of those annoying passes to play past level 5, from what I remember). I enjoyed it for a few days as a rental. Now for some reason it's getting an Ultimate Edition that will probably include all the DLC.

There hasn't been anything set in stone yet, but the Homefront Ultimate Edition will probably come with the Fire Sale and The Rock map packs.

Who knows why THQ is releasing an Ultimate Edition for a not-so-successful game a full year later, considering that all the extras will probably be multiplayer features for an online community that has probably dwindled so much as to be practically nonexistent - though the community may receive a little boost once this releases.

One good thing to look forward to is Homefront 2, which has been taken over by Crytek. It's not slated for release until 2014, however.

Homefront Ultimate Edition is due out Q1 2012, so it's coming pretty soon.

Hey this game was wicked fun, campaign was short but it still kicked ass. MP did have its flaws but it did everything before bf3 or mw3 did. I feel it took the best of both franchises and mashed it into one. Yeah some mechanics of the game were a little shotty but I still mark this as a favorite. All it needs is more maps, and i'd still be playing. The vehicle system was excellent and was given a lot more thought than bf3's current first noob first served.

The battle points governed a lot in this game and it worked well I think for the most part.
