It’s no secret that 2010’s Splinter Cell Conviction was less than a hit with the Splinter Cell fanbase. So, when people learned that the upcoming Splinter Cell Blacklist would be picking up where that game left off (sort of), folks were less than enthused.

However, thanks to this killer new trailer first shown at Ubisoft’s part of the Microsoft press conference, it looks like the Splinter Cell franchise is headed in the right direction:

You’ll likely notice a few mechanic carryovers from Conviction, but the game appears much cleaner, smoother and more open in design. There’s also going to be a brand new co-op campaign and the return of Splinter Cell’s much-loved Mercs vs. Spies multiplayer mode.
